1. Can you recommend ~ : ~을 추천 해주시겠습니까?

 

ex) Can you recommend a restaurant near my hotel?

ex) Can you recommend a good travel agent for backpacking?

      * travel agency : 여행사, travel agent : 여행사 직원

          => 한국에서는 보통 여행사로 소통이 되지만, 외국에서는 보통 개개인을 중요시 하므로 여행사 직원으로 소통을 한다.

ex) Can you recommend a hotel that is within 10 minutes drive away from your office?

 

2. What is(are) ~ like? : ~은 어떻습니까?

=> How is(are) ~ 과 같은 표현(how를 사용할 때는 뒤에 like 붙이지 않음)

 

ex) What is the weather in L.A. like? (= How is the weather in L.A.?)

ex) What are the hotel facilities like?

ex) What is the traffic like on the Northern State Parkway and Route 35?

       * "on the Northern State Parkway and Route 35" 이 너무 길기 때문에 like 뒤에 위치해도 무관함

 

3.  The reservation was made ~ : 예약이 ~에 되었습니다.(수동태 형식 문장)

ex) The reservation was made last week.

ex) The reservation was made on July 14th under the name Mr.Kim.

ex) The reservation can be made up to 120 days in advance.
